The program aims to improve Government communication by monitoring responses and interactions on social media and creating lists of journalists with the greatest media impact. The opposition has already demanded clarification.

The Government moved forward with the acquisition of a digital predictive analytics platform based on artificial intelligence, with the aim of strengthening its communication response capacity, especially in crisis contexts.

According to the report, the contract, worth around 40 thousand euros, was signed by the General Secretariat of the Government with the Irish company NewsWhip.

The tool now acquired allows you to simultaneous monitoring of multiple digital platformsincluding social networks and online media. According to the technical specifications of the contract, the system uses predictive models and performance metrics to evaluate indicators such as the growth of interactions, viralization patterns and potential reach of content.

The tool also makes it possible to creating lists of journalists with greater media impact, organized based on criteria such as production volume and the reach of their news. The platform promises to identify “influential voices” and alert users whenever a particular article has the potential to generate high public interest.

The main objective of this acquisition is to allow the Executive to anticipate informational trends and adapt your communication in a timely manner. The contract, lasting one year, highlights that the platform must provide predictive indicators capable of assessing the likelihood of certain content going viral.

Opposition demands explanations

Opposition parties have already criticized the Government’s purchase. “This is yet another example of the difficulty that the Prime Minister has demonstrated in deal with the free exercise of journalism”, says a PS source heard by , who also adds that the party will ask Montenegro directly for clarification.

André Ventura will also move forward with a request and admits calling Leitão Amaro to respond to the Assembly of the Republic if the answers “are not enlightening”.
