‘Provocative US actions’ could have ‘dangerous consequences’, says Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Monday that “provocative” US actions could have “dangerous consequences” for global peace and security.

During a telephone conversation between the two, Araghchi reviewed the latest regional developments following the announcement of the ceasefire and subsequent talks between Iran and the US in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

He “warned about the dangerous consequences of provocative US actions in the Persian Gulf and for regional and global peace and security,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Lavrov welcomed Iran and stressed that Moscow believes the agreements also apply to Lebanon.

Lavrov also stated that Russia remains ready to “help find solutions that overcome the consequences of Israel’s unprovoked aggression against Iran,” the Russian ministry said.
