The Brazilian demonstrated technical superiority e protagonism in decisive moments of the match to beat the Chilean, his tormentor at the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires, by 2 sets a 0with partial 7/6 (7/1) e 6/3.
Fonseca will face the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (27th), who defeated the American Alex Michelsen (35th) by 2 sets a 0. In Monte Carlo, last week, 2-1. The match, valid for the round of 16, is scheduled for Wednesday (15), with no set time yet.
The nine degree cold in Munich did not stop the tennis players from playing a balanced confrontation in the first set. Tabilo started better and confirmed break point after Fonseca committed a double fault. The Rio native returned well on his rival’s serve and tied at 2/2 after a rally that excited the crowd.
