Former deputy, sentenced to 16 years by the STF for attempted coup in 2022, was detained by ICE in Orlando and is now subject to deportation, according to US authorities
Orange County, a county in the state of Florida, in the United States, where former federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem is imprisoned, released a photo of him after his arrest.

Alexandre Ramagem was arrested by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) this Monday (14), in Orlando.
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison by the Federal Supreme Court for the attempted coup d’état in 2022, but fled to the United States before the case became final.
According to an investigation by the Federal Police, Ramagem entered the USA with false documents and the support of allies. Now, the former congressman is , according to American officials.

Five months earlier, Ramagem had stated that he was in the country with the “consent of the American government”. At the time, the former parliamentarian also said that he left Brazil so that his daughters would not see him being arrested.
