During the intervention on Friday (April 17) evening in the village of Ostrovany in the district of Sabinov, during a conflict between residents of the settlement, locals attacked the intervening members of the Police and gendarmes. As the tvnoviny.sk portal reported, one of the policemen suffered injuries in the face and one of the gendarmes was taken to the Faculty Hospital with the JA Reiman Polyclinic in Prešov.
The hospital confirmed that on Friday evening a patient with injuries sustained in the performance of duty was admitted to the trauma surgery department. “The patient is hospitalized with a broken collarbone and his condition is stabilized. We will not provide more detailed information about his health due to the protection of personal data.” said Daniela Troligová from the department of communication and marketing.
The attack is being investigated by the police. “The case has been taken over by the investigator of the District Directorate of the Police Force in Prešov, the necessary procedural actions are being carried out, it is not possible to provide more detailed information yet,” Jana Ligdayová, spokeswoman for the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Prešov, said.
