“It is not possible for people not to understand that the UN Security Council was created to maintain peace, harmony, so that we could avoid a repeat of the Second World War. And today the world is experiencing the greatest number of conflicts in its history”, he declared during a speech at the Hannover industrial fair, in Germany.
“One has to ask President Trump, President Putin, President Xi Jinping, President Macron and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom: What is the UN Security Council for? Why don’t you get together and stop these wars?“, he continued.
Lula repeated that the world spends US$2.7 trillion on wars and “nothing against hunger” and in favor of migration policies. “Why don’t they decide to allocate the money that is waging war, killing and destroying, so that we can take care of the millions of victims who are walking around the world looking for a country that will receive them and, now, the poor people who are trying to survive are not accepted by any country?”, he asked.
Lula also said have nothing against immigrantsbecause immigration is part of the country’s history.

According to him, there is a lot of talk about the effects of artificial intelligence, but “few talks about workers”. “It is important that artificial intelligence, when being thought about and studied, takes into account that planet Earth is inhabited by human beings,” he said.

Lula stated that the world is experiencing paradoxes and, without mentioning countries, said that “some permanent members” of the Security Council act without the support of the Charter of the United Nations. In an anti-war tone, Lula criticized the use of technology to promote wars.

Lula also said that his government is rebuilding “a robust reindustrialization program” based on green economy and that the world has seen an “advance of anti-democratic forces” in recent decades.
