Entities submit proposals to the Lula government for the Safra Plan – 04/19/2026 – Panel

A group that brings together more than 15 civil society organizations delivered two letters with recommendations to the Lula administration for the National Family Strengthening Program (Pronaf) to be incorporated into the 2026/2027 biennium.

The federal government is expected to announce the next edition of the plan in June.

Among the suggestions, one of the letters supports the recommendations prepared by the Brazil Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition, coordinated by Agroicone, on the recovery of degraded pastures so that they can be converted into productive systems resilient to climate change.

The other letter endorses the recommendations made by the Observatory of Sociobiodiversity Economies (ÓSocioBio), under the coordination of Conexsus, regarding the diversification of access to credit so that resources reach more family farmers and fishermen.

The letters were delivered to the Ministries of Environment and Climate Change; Agriculture and Livestock; Agrarian Development and Family Farming; and the Treasury.
