After 5 days of disappearance, Daniel Neves Pereira was identified as a patient who died in a hospital in Buenos Aires
University professor Daniel Neves Pereira, 35 years old, disappeared in the early hours of Wednesday (April 15, 2026), after leaving for a meeting in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Nthis Monday (April 20, 2026) he was recognized as an unidentified patient who had died days earlier at Ramos Mejía Hospital.
According to the victim’s family and friends, Danilo said he was going out on a date with a person named “Ulisses” who he met through an app. He sent the location of where he was, in a building opposite the Israeli Embassy and close to Café Tortoni, a tourist area monitored by security cameras.
In his last message, around 4 am on April 15, the professor reported that he was in an apartment at Avenida de Maio, number 700. After that, there was no more news from him.
Information from the Argentine newspaper Clarion claim that Daniel was admitted to the hospital on the 15th, was admitted and listed as an unidentified patient. The teacher would have died on the same day. According to the police, the death was caused by psychotropic decompensation resulting from the use of cocaine.
Born in Goiás, Danilo had moved to the Argentine capital 6 months ago to complete his doctoral thesis. He taught classes at the Language Center at UFG (Federal University of Goiás) from 2010 to 2022.
In a note, Itamaraty reported that the Brazilian Consulate in Buenos Aires has already been contacted and is providing assistance, but highlighted that it does not have the legal competence to conduct the investigations.
