Paulo Henrique Rodrigues Pereira assumes portfolio in the PSB quota after being nominated by the mayor of Recife, João Campos
(PSB-SP) appointed Paulo Henrique Rodrigues Pereira to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Businesses. The appointment was signed on Monday (April 20, 2026), while the vice-president was temporarily serving as Presidency of the Republic. President Lula is traveling to Europe.
Alckmin dismissed Tadeu Alencar from the position of Minister of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Businesses. The departure was officially made by request. Paulo Henrique Rodrigues Pereira enters the government as part of the party to which he is a member.
The new minister is a law professor at the (University of São Paulo). He was national secretary of Justice during Ricardo Lewandowski’s tenure at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Paulo Henrique is linked to the former mayor of Recife and pre-candidate for governor, (PSB), who suggested the name to Lula.
The new minister also had the support of the former governor of São Paulo, one of the main leaders of the PSB.
Tadeu Alencar left the ministry. He will go to a special advisory role in the vice presidency. The former minister is expected to assume the mandate of federal deputy in May. To this end, an agreement was made in which deputies from the PSB of Pernambuco will take leave so that he can take over.
The appointment was signed by the Presidency of the Republic, held on an interim basis by Alckmin, in São Paulo.
