Amy Winehouse’s father, who sued two of his daughter’s friends for auctioning around 800 of the singer’s items lost the legal action, the London High Court announced this Monday.

Two friends of the British singer sold items from the artist, raising more than 1.4 million dollars (around 1 million euros) of which 30% were allocated to the singer’s foundation.

“I was by Amy’s side as a friend, partner and costume designer. What we shared was based on trust, loyalty and a true love of the work. To see that relationship be so misrepresented in public was hurtful and unfair,” she adds.

Deputy judge of the High Court of London, Sarah Clarkerevealed that Amy used to gift clothes to friends because she didn’t want to wear the same item more than once and had “more objects than she could use or keep”. Furthermore, he also rejected Mitchell Winehouse’s arguments, describing him as an “unreliable witness who likes to manipulate people and situations.”

Amy Winehouse died at 27 yearsvictim of accidental alcohol poisoning. She was found dead at home in Camden, July 23, 2011. Since then, the father has taken over the management of his inheritance.
