Italy summoned the Russian ambassador in Rome, Alexey Paramonov, in response to the statements of the Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. He called Prime Minister Giorgia Meloniová a “shame of the human race”, a “wild beast”, a “certified idiot” or a “disgusting little woman”. TASR informs about it according to the reports of the AFP and ANSA agencies.
Solovyov said insults to Meloniova in Italian. He then said in Russian that “Meloni is a fascist being who betrayed her voters and betrayed even (US President Donald) Trump”. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on the X social network that he had summoned the Russian ambassador “to raise a formal protest against the extremely serious and insulting remarks made by TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov on Russian television to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloniova.”
