PL deputy is the target of searches by the PF for alleged deviation of amendments

The Federal Police carried out 18 search and seizure warrants this Thursday (25) against federal deputy Josimar Maranhãozinho (PL-MA) and suspected of diverting amendments from the secret budget. The operation, called “Afluente” and authorized by STF minister Flávio Dino, reached addresses in the Federal District, Goiás and Maranhão.

Investigations point to a corruption schemeembezzlement of public resources and money laundering operated by a criminal organization. According to the PF, the amounts would have been transferred through Codevasf and directed to companies supposedly linked to the group under investigation.

A Young Pan identified the deputy Josimar Cunha Rodrigues, Maranhãozinho, as part of the membership of a construction company based in the city of Maranhãozinho, in Maranhão, with active registration status with the Federal Revenue Service. According to information available on the internet, the company operates in road infrastructure works, with asphalt paving, earthmoving and drainage services, as well as construction and restoration of highways.

During the execution of the warrants, Cash was seized at one of the addresses linked to the deputy. The amount had not yet been recorded by the authorities at the time of writing this report.

Maranhãozinho had already been convicted by the STF in March for deviating from amendments. In the process, the PGR stated that he coordinated the allocation of resources, monitored the release of funds, controlled payment spreadsheets and charged bribes. The parliamentarian is on leave from his mandate in the Chamber.

If the participation of those under investigation is confirmed, they may be held liable for passive and active corruption, embezzlement, money laundering and criminal organization. The report sought contact with the deputy’s defense, but received no response until publication.
