Argentine player Lucas Trejo reported this Thursday (25) that he lost contact with his family after the strong earthquakes that hit Venezuela. Currently in Venezuelan football, where he plays for Club Sport Marítimo de La Guairao, a second division club, the athlete stated that the building where his wife and two children lived collapsed during the tremors and that, since then, he has been unable to obtain information about their whereabouts.
In a post on social media, Trejo appealed for help and asked for the message to be shared in hopes of locating relatives. According to the player, his wife, Yani, and children, Aarón and Ainhoa, were associated with the building that collapsed in Praia Grande, a coastal city located about 12 kilometers north of Caracas.

In the message, he said he hoped that relatives were not at the scene at the time of the collapse and asked for prayers. The drama experienced by Trejo adds to that of thousands of Venezuelans affected by the earthquakes that hit the country. According to authorities, the tremors caused the destruction of properties in different regions, with thousands of citizens displaced.
Two earthquakes
with less than a minute difference between them, causing destruction in several regions of the country. The tremors collapsed buildings and houses in Caracas and other Venezuelan cities, in addition to being felt in locations in northern Brazil. After the race, several countries offered to help the country by sending humanitarian aid and supplies.
Second to Venezuelan president, Delcy Rodríguez, almost 200 people died and the number of injured could reach a thousand. The number of victims, however, could still increase, as search and rescue operations continue in areas affected by the landslides. More than 500 emergency teams are working to search for survivors under the rubble of buildings and homes that collapsed as a result of the tremors.
