A Slovenian parish mourns its favorite priest. Robert Emeršič died suddenly after he was stung by a wasp while celebrating the Holy Mass. Unfortunately, a strong allergic reaction had fatal consequences, informs. The tragic event occurred on June 14 during a church service in the village of Planica.
For the faithful from the parishes of Fram and Rače, where the priest worked, this news was a huge shock. “It hit us like a bolt from the blue. We found ourselves in a completely new and extremely difficult situation,” said representatives of the parish after the last farewell to the deceased took place.
After the funeral, the local church community expressed its gratitude not only to the leadership of the church, but to all the believers who participated in the organization of the mourning ceremonies in the churches in Frame and Račie, as well as in the funeral itself in the town of Hoče. Locals remember him as a dedicated person.
“We are grateful that we could say goodbye to him in the place that he liked the most – behind the altar, at the Holy Mass that he loved so much.” added the devastated parishioners. According to the believers, the legacy of the deceased priest remains a call for unity. The community vowed to continue his work and make sure that both parishes function and grow exactly as their beloved parish priest wished.
