Companies, which have already had a joint venture since 2022, say that the partnership reinforces technical collaboration
A ea announced this Wednesday (April 22, 2026) a long-term commercial agreement for MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul services), focusing on the repair of Airbus A320 aircraft components. According to the companies, the partnership still depends on regulatory approvals.
The two companies already have a joint venture since 2022. In a statement, they stated that the deal reinforces technical collaboration between them.
According to Latam, Delta TechOps supports the group’s fleet with an advanced repair structure at its facilities in Atlanta (USA), including maintenance, repair and engine overhaul services for Airbus A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft.
On the other hand, the company also provides component maintenance support to Delta at its MRO unit in São Carlos, São Paulo.
The unit was created in 2001, has 95 thousand m², employs approximately 2,4000 professionals and has 9 hangars and 22 specialized workshops, with the capacity to service up to 18 aircraft simultaneously.
According to Jerome Cadier, CEO of Latam Airlines Brasil, “This agreement with Delta represents an important step in strengthening the maintenance capabilities of Latam Airlines Brasil and expanding the role of our São Carlos unit, Latam MRO, as an important maintenance, repair and overhaul center in Latin America”.
“It reinforces our ambition to establish the region as a strategic aviation maintenance hub, with engineering and innovation expertise”he states.
Alain Bellemare, chairman of Delta TechOps, says that the agreement “enables you to leverage complementary strengths and offer more comprehensive maintenance solutions to customers around the world”.
According to him, “With accelerated fleet growth in our industry, TechOps is committed to responsibly meeting the demand for high-quality component repairs, including partnerships that meet our rigorous standards and generate long-term value for Delta and its customers.”
