The president of the Liberal Party (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, told Jovem Pan that there are chances of former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) agreeing and giving in to nominate André do Prado (PL), the president of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp), to the Senate. “There’s a chance, the conversation was very good.”, said Valdermar, however, he emphasized that there is no deadline yet, however, “it will be soon”.

Valdemar returned to Brazil this Wednesday (22) after a trip to the United States alongside André do Prado. Jovem Pan had announced that the meeting would take place amidst efforts to define the candidate for the Senate by the PL in São Paulo. The name ofis no longer a possibility. A few weeks ago, André landed on North American soil for a delegation that would visit Eduardo, but the two did not discuss the matter.

As the column stated, he was interested in supporting federal deputy Mário Frias. Jair Bolsonaro’s son will be responsible for giving the final word. Eduardo’s possible endorsement, according to an assessment, would make the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), dive deeper into Senator Flávio Bolsonaro’s (PL) campaign for the Presidency of the Republic.

Behind the scenes at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, the message is caution: Tarcísio will not declare support for any name until the choice is made.

Sources told Jovem Pan that the governor promised to organize lunches and dinners with businesspeople, for example, to bring the sector and Faria Lima closer to the former president’s son, which has not yet happened.

To measure the acceptance of the names, the PL commissioned internal surveys. In addition to André do Prado, federal deputies Mário Frias and Marco Feliciano also appeared, who are preferred by Eduardo Bolsonaro.

to try to consolidate his candidacy. For members of the PL, loyalty to Bolsonarism speaks in favor of the deputy — and should weigh in on the final decision.
