Lula will call for an end to the 6×1 in a PT video on television – 04/22/2026 – Brasília Hoje

President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT) will give a speech for the end of , in a PT (Workers’ Party) video that will be broadcast on national television starting this Thursday (23).

“In Brazil, many mothers leave home to work early, with their children still asleep, and return late with their children already in bed. She only has one day to rest and take care of her family, this is not fair”, says the president. “Work dignifies, builds the country, but it cannot separate mother and children. That’s why we are proposing the end of the 6×1 scale without salary cuts. Let’s go together. Brazil is stronger with families together.”

The material lasts 30 seconds and shows the routine of a woman who works outside the home and takes care of her children. The content was published on the party’s profile on March 14th and should air on national television on Thursday (23rd).

As the latest Datafolha survey showed, Lula lost his advantage over Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) with , with whom the PT member used to have better performance.

At the moment, the government and Congress are fighting over the text details and processing format of the proposal to reduce working hours in the Chamber. This Wednesday (22), the House Constitution and Justice Committee was in favor of the 6×1 matchday.

The PEC is a proposal format with slower processing and cannot be vetoed by the President of the Republic. Because of this, the government defends that the proposal be processed through PL (bill), contrary to the intentions of the president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).
