In a statement to the police, Jefferson de Souza denied the accusations, but later recorded a video apologizing
The image of a 16-year-old evangelical teenager was used, without consent, in a video made by Artificial Intelligence (AI) from influencer Jefferson de Souzaaged 37, between the end of March and the beginning of April.
In the video, Jefferson used the photo of the minor as she was inside the Congregação Cristã do Brasil (CCB) Church, in front of the altar, for the production of a video that uses deep fake technologyan aspect of AI that uses people’s faces outside the context of the image’s original purpose.
The suspect presents himself as a comedian, a Silvio Santos imitator and a tire dealer. In a statement to the police, he denied the accusations, but later recorded a video apologizing on Tik Tokon April 4th. “I came here to ask everyone’s forgiveness. I recognize that I was unfortunate in my words,” he said.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that the case was registered by the 8th Police Station for the Defense of Women (DDM) in the capital and, subsequently, sent to the Lençóis Paulistas Police Station, responsible for the area of the facts. “Efforts to properly clarify the facts will be carried out”, they informed.
According to the SSP, other information will be preserved, due to the nature of the incident and because it “involves a minor victim”.
