“Instead of protecting that information as he was obligated to do, Van Dyke decided to use that classified information to carry out operations on a platform prediction market for personal benefit,” the indictment states.
1,242% profit
Last December, Van Dyke created an account on Polymarketa popular platform bets online. He bet $33,933 on four predictions related to the assault on Caracas ordered by the White Houseone of them the capture of Maduro. So, both seemed like an unlikely act, to say the least.
