Shortly after Donald Trump’s announcement, Hezbollah announced rocket fire, Israel revealed that it attacked Lebanon.
Donald Trump announced last night that Israel and the Lebanon agreed to extend the ceasefire between Israelites and Hezbollah three weeks. The 10-day ceasefire that was in force would end next Monday, the 27th.
Negotiations took place this Thursday at the White House; the US ambassadors in both countries were together.
“We had an excellent meeting with the highest entities in Lebanon and the highest entities in Israel. And we think that the president of Lebanon and the prime minister of Israel will come here in the coming weeks”, commented the US president.
When announcing the extension of the ceasefire, Trump admitted: “We’ll see. Let’s hope it happens. There will be no attacks between them (Israel and Lebanon), but we have to take Hezbollah into account.”
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Danny Danon, admitted that the ceasefire extended with Lebanon “it’s not 100%”.
“O Lebanese government has no control over Hezbollahand Hezbollah is launching rockets to try to sabotage the ceasefire. Israel, we must retaliate. Whenever we see a threat, we act”, commented the ambassador, on .
Shortly after Trump’s announcement, the Hezbollah revealed that shot rockets against northern Israel in response to ceasefire violations by the Israeli Army.
“To defend Lebanon and its people, and in response to the violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli enemy and its attacks on the city of Yater, in southern Lebanon”, Hezbollah “targeted the settlement of Shtula with a volley of rockets”, said the pro-Iran group in a statement.
At least three people died and two others were injured this Thursday in Israeli air and artillery attacks in Lebanon, where violence has not ceased despite the ceasefire.
This Friday morning, the army of Israel announced that it launched a attack against the Lebanon, after detecting several rocket launchers.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said rocket launchers from Lebanon hit the border village of Shtula in the north of the country.
The message, published on the Telegram platform, does not clarify whether the alleged attack occurred before or after the announcement by the President of the United States.
