There are three wars taking place in the European Union’s neighborhood that determine world events: in Ukraine, in Iran and in Lebanon. The first, a classic war of conquest by Russia against a democratic country, has been raging for more than four years. In the other, which the USA and Israel began against the dictatorial mullahs’ regime just six weeks ago, there is currently a fragile ceasefire. But it has the potential for far greater destruction. In Lebanon it is about fighting the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
