The president of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS), stated this Saturday (25) that he will present a request to the board to make Paolo Zampolli, friend of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and special envoy for global affairs of the United States government ‘persona non grata’. Zampolli said, in an interview, that the Brazilian women are “prostitutes”, a “cursed race” and “programmed to cause confusion”.

“I’m going to make a proposal, to be appreciated by our collegiate, giving him the title of persona non grata in Brazil, in Brazilian territory, requesting a retraction with an apology. This situation is unacceptable”, declared Trad, in a video released.

In Latin, the expression persona non grata means “person not welcome” and is often used in diplomacy to declare a foreign representative unwelcome in a country.

Zampolli foi married for around 20 years to Brazilian model Amanda Ungarowith whom he has a 15-year-old son. The model, deported in October last year, after 23 years in the country, was detained by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She claims that the deportation was influenced by Zampolli, amid a dispute over custody of her son. The woman also accuses her ex-partner of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
