Trump is rushed out after shots are heard at White House dinner

President Donald Trump was hastily removed from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night (25) after several gunshots were heard in the main hall.

According to CNBC, at least five shots were heard at the event held at the Washington Hilton hotel. They echoed in the ballroom as attendees dined on the first course, minutes after White House Correspondents’ Association President Weija Jiang’s speech.

Trump, who was seated at the front of the ballroom next to first lady Melania Trump, was quickly surrounded by security as many guests ducked under tables.

A video of the event shows the president being removed from the stage seconds later, when guards armed with tactical equipment and large-caliber rifles appeared at the stand.

Sources told Fox News that the individual never entered the ballroom, was detained and removed from the venue. President Trump was seen being quickly escorted out of the room by security, and White House officials told Fox News Digital that both he and the First Lady and Karoline Leavitt are safe at this time.
