Gabriel Medina and Luana Silva, two Brazilian surfers, were runners-up in Margaret River on Saturday (25). Medina, who returned to the venue for one of his last achievements on the world circuit, was defeated by Australian George Pittar in the final of the Australian stage of the World Surf League.

He started the decisive heat better and led in the first half, maintaining consistency in the initial waves. However, Pittar found the best condition of the day in the final stretch and got a score of 9, which changed the course of the dispute.

O The result marks Pittar’s first victory in finals on the circuitat a stage in which he also eliminated two other Brazilian champions, including Ítalo Ferreira.

Who also took second place was Luana Silva. She was close to the title. She reached the decision strong after beating world champion Caitlin Simmers in the semi-final, however, Luana encountered difficulties against the American Lakey Peterson, who controlled the heat from the start and secured the title. Even with runner-up, the Brazilian achieved another good result and continues to rise on the circuit.
