A shooting caused panic among guests at a White House correspondents’ dinner in Washington on Saturday (25). The shots began at around 9:45 pm, and were heard by several journalists from the CNN international present non event.
United States President Donald Trump was hastily removed from the stage by the Secret Service, according to information from CNN.
Vice President JD Vance and members of Trump’s cabinet, who were also attending the event, quickly left the venue.
Authorities identified the suspect in the shooting as a man named Cole Tomas Allen, who is 31 years old and lives in California, according to multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the latest information.
The anchor of CNN International Wolf Blitzer experienced moments of tension during dinner. He recounted how he was protected by a police officer during the incident.

“I’m standing outside the ballroom and I heard a really loud noise and I had no idea what was going on, but the next thing that happened was a police officer pushed me and walked over, threw me over to protect me,” Blitzer described.
