Shaun Clarida: ‘The 2025 Olympia rekindled a flame’ – 04/26/2026 – Muscle

Two-time Olympia champion in the 212 category, Shaun Clarida surprised bodybuilding fans by showing a substantial improvement between the 2024 and 2025 editions of the championship.

He maintained his runner-up position, a result he has already achieved four times throughout his career, but examples of athletes who have shown such remarkable progress after the age of 40 are rare.

In an interview with the column, the bodybuilder states that the competition changed the direction his career followed: “The 2025 Olympia rekindled a flame in me.” He also warns his opponents. “I improved, and this year I will continue to improve”, he guarantees.

The conversation took place during the Arnold Sports Festival South America, the largest multi-sport event in Latin America, which takes place in São Paulo this weekend.

In contact with the local public for the first time, Clarida says she admires “the amount of support and passion that Brazilians have for the sport. It’s incredible.”

When asked about a possible competition in Brazil, the American athlete left it open: “Who knows, it could happen.”

Nicknamed the “Giant Killer”, Clarida won the Olympia in 2020 and 2022. Since 2023, however, the title has been held by fellow American Keone Pearson.
