Social Security has already released the payment schedule scheduled for May 2026. The dates allow beneficiaries to know when they will receive pensions, subsidies and other social support, important information for organizing the family budget.
Every month, the organization publishes a calendar with scheduled dates for the payment of the main social benefits. In May, payments begin on the first day of the month and continue until the 28th.
According to information provided by Social Security, the first payments are scheduled for May 4th. On that date, pensions and benefits associated with occupational illness are paid.
Pensions and support paid in the first days of May
Payment of rental assistance is scheduled for May 7th. The following day, May 8, it will be the turn of pensions, the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly, the Reimbursement of Funeral Expenses and the Social Benefit for Inclusion.
These dates are particularly relevant for many households, especially at a time when monthly expenses require greater planning. Knowing in advance when money enters your account can help you better manage payments, purchases and fixed charges.
Social Security reminds you that payments can be made by bank transfer or postal order, depending on the benefit and the form defined by the beneficiary. In the case of rent support, payment is made only by bank transfer.
Unemployment, sickness and parental benefits
In the middle of the month, on May 15th, the first payment relating to unemployment, illness, parenthood and social action is scheduled. Family benefits are also paid on the same date.
On May 21st, the Food Guarantee Fund for Minors will be paid. This support is intended for specific situations in which payment of alimony owed to children or young people is not provided.
New payments are scheduled for May 22nd. On this date, the Social Insertion Income, the Salary Guarantee Fund and the Subsidy for Suspension of Cultural Activity will be paid.
Calendar ends on May 28th
The May calendar ends on the 28th. On that date, Social Security makes the second payment for unemployment, illness, parenthood and social work.
Also on May 28th, Informal Caregiver Support Allowance will be paid, aimed at those who provide permanent care to another person in a situation of dependence.
Beneficiaries must bear in mind that these dates are those set out in the official calendar. In some cases, the actual entry of money into the account may depend on banking procedures.
Simulator helps you understand what support you can receive
In addition to the payment calendar, Social Security provides a simulator that allows you to check, in a few minutes, which social support may be requested.
This tool gathers information about more than 40 social benefits and screens them using simple questions. The objective is to guide citizens to the support they may be entitled to and direct them, whenever possible, to the online request.
To use the simulator, it is important to respond with correct data, as the questions serve to assess possible eligibility for different subsidies and benefits.
Social Security therefore recommends that beneficiaries have the necessary information with them before starting the simulation. This way, the result will be more adjusted to the real situation of each household.
