The demand for tickets for the meeting between FC Porto and Alverca (to be held this Saturday, May 2nd), which could have a direct impact on the award of the national title, is causing prices to skyrocket on the resale market, with prices well above those initially charged by the club. According to the portal, there are tickets available on resale platforms that cost up to 2,645 euros, including taxes, to watch the game scheduled for Estádio do Dragão.
The prices currently recorded contrast with the original values defined by the club at the time of the official sale. According to the same source, tickets were initially put on sale for between 16 euros, for members in the upper stand, and 72 euros, for fans in the premium east central, having sold out within a few hours.
Sharp differences by sector
In the resale market, values vary depending on the location of seats within the stadium, but remain high across the board. According to data from the SeatPick portal, tickets range from 150 euros to 2,112 euros, to which are added 533 euros in fees, bringing the final price to 2,645 euros. Interestingly, the highest values do not necessarily correspond to the best locations within the stadium.
The most expensive tickets are for seats in the upper stands, which highlights the high demand for this specific match. Even in sectors with lower prices, prices remain above what is usual for national championship games. The same source mentions that tickets for the side stands are between 150 and 200 euros, while in the central stands they vary between 175 and 250 euros, and can reach 270 euros in the upper ones.
The most exclusive areas of the stadium are not left out of this trend of rising prices. Boxes cost more than 300 euros per person, reflecting the importance attributed to the meeting. Despite being sold out on initial sales, there is still a chance that new tickets will become available to the public. According to Notícias ao Minuto, the club indicates that Annual Seat holders can release their seats, with these tickets subsequently going on sale.
The mechanism allows unused seats to return to the official sales circuit. The same source explains that “these tickets will automatically be made available to the public as they are released”, with the amount credited to the original holder’s account.
Title can be decided before
Despite the high expectations surrounding the game, the outcome of the championship can be defined before this match. FC Porto leads the standings with 82 points, having a comfortable advantage over the main pursuers. The title could be secured without the team taking the field, depending on the results of other games. This will happen if Sporting and Benfica fail to win their respective meetings against Tondela and Famalicão.
Regardless of when the title is confirmed, no immediate celebrations are planned. The management of FC Porto intends to postpone any celebrations until the last round, against Santa Clara. Although the regulations allow the immediate delivery of the trophy, there is a different understanding in this case. The publication adds that, in agreement with the club, the ceremony should only take place in this last game, if the title is already mathematically guaranteed.
