The president of the Chamber committee that analyzes the proposal to end the 6×1 work schedule, deputy Alencar Santana (PT-SP)said this Tuesday (28) that there is no reason for the text to provide compensation or relief for companies.
“In 2019, Bolsonaro approved the Pension Reform without compensation for retirement. Why should there be compensation now? We have to understand the reality of each of these sectors, but it cannot be automatic,” he stated.
Despite this, according to the parliamentarian, the limited capacity of a small business to withstand such a rapid change will be taken into consideration. “To understand what to do,” he explained.
Earlier, the president of the Chamber, deputy Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB)told CNN that the end of the 6×1 scale is one of the most important agendas of 2026.
“The 6×1 agenda is one of the most important issues that Congress must dedicate itself to throughout the year 2026. The agenda of reducing working hours, an issue that has been discussed around the world, now arrives in our country with the responsibility of Congress to conduct this vote with great balance”, he pointed out.
Motta said that the PEC reached the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission), there was already a schedule for voting on the proposal.
“When we decided, at the beginning of this year, to send the proposed amendment to the Constitution, the famous PEC 6×1, to the Constitution and Justice Commission, we already established a schedule for voting on the matter there so as not to show that the simple fact of sending it would just be a procrastinatory measure so that the matter would not be voted on”, he added.
