Egypt is one of the most popular holiday destinations, known for its ancient history, water sports and year-round sun. In addition to getting to know the country, many vacationers like to enjoy undisturbed relaxation by the pool. However, tourists in one of the resorts received a bigger surprise, than they expected, writes .
Mike Wazowski’s characters from the movie Monsters Ltd. and Čeburaška caused a stir during their rest. The hotel’s entertainment company shared a video of people’s confused reactions to the masked entertainers. In the clip, the green monster jumps on the sunbeds of guests who try to ignore him, while the familiar eared figure second him. “Hotel-style entertainment as it should be,” the company captioned the post.
The video earned 178,000 likes and many people expressed their enthusiasm in the comments. “I wish this would happen to me,” one user wrote, while another described the situation as a dream. However, part of the audience remained skeptical. “It looks scary,” someone pointed out while others noticed that the guests weren’t having much fun. “I don’t want to know who’s inside,” was heard in the discussion along with a surprised question. “What the hell is Cheburashka doing there?” asked the commenter.
Is it safe to travel to Egypt?
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic currently maintains a level 3 warning for Egypt – a recommendation not to travel to certain areas. While the main tourist centers are considered to be relatively stable, the resort warns of the ongoing risk of terrorist attacks, which is, however, minimized in the resorts by tightened controls.
The Slovak Department of Diplomacy strongly recommends not traveling to the following parts of the country: North Sinai (a long-term high-risk area due to military operations), border with Libya (western territories of the Western Desert within a radius of about 20 km from the borders) a border with Israel (due to the situation in Gaza, there is a strict warning for the areas of Taba, Nuweiba and the route Dahab – Nuweiba – Taba).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, they are Egyptian security forces considered safe: Resorts near the Red Sea (Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, Marsa Alam) and historical monuments (wider center of Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel).
From March 28, 2026, Egypt introduced new measures, including restrictions on the opening hours of establishments, which may affect movement in cities. MZVEZ SR also draws attention to possible air traffic disruptions due to regional tensions and recommends registration in the e-Reporting system.
