Pre-candidate for President of the Republic, the former governor of Goiás () says that the Senate responded to President Lula that it is not possible to consider a STF minister as a “position of trust”.
Using a local expression, Caiado stated that “the Senate did not accept that Lula appointed his whip corporal as a member of the Supreme Court”.
According to him, Messias would be another minister aligned with the president, as in the two previous nominations: Cristiano Zanin, his former personal lawyer, and Flavio Dino, his former Minister of Justice.
“‘It’s a historic defeat, a point of correction. The Senate said enough is enough. It deserves to be applauded for demanding that the criteria for nominations change,” said the presidential candidate.
