Not by chance! Patrik Švajda competed in the marquee show Let’s Dance fifteen years ago. Martina Reiterová was his dance partner at the time, and the pair lasted until the seventh round in the shiny marquee project. The star of Marquesas Televízny noviny is known for not taking part in social events, but he recently made an exception.
It was the charity round of the eleventh edition of Let’s Dance, where he danced together with his wife Zlatica Švajdová Puškárová. The prominent couple enjoyed the events on the dance floor and the company of their other friends from Markíza. All the more so because the performances in the middle of the arena did not concern their muscles and bones. From the audience’s point of view, they seemed satisfied, and Švajda knows and remembers very well why.
“I remember the Let’s Dance period fondly. We trained non-stop, we didn’t have a second off, but if you ask me if I would do it again, the answer is clear: never in my life!” he said with a laugh to Patrik, saying that when he was dancing on the floor, he and Zlatka had not yet started a family and their priorities were elsewhere. “Today we have days planned down to the last second and, let’s be honest, I’m not even in the physical condition to perform somersaults on the floor anymore. I admire everyone who jumps on the merry-go-round today all the more. It’s an incredible feat and I can honestly say that it’s an absolute ‘massacre’ from start to finish.” added the seasoned Marquis.
Patrik and his then dance partner Reiterová dared to go as far as possible and in the fall of 2011 they made it clear that others were also on their heads for their stop in the show. Contemporary records say that they didn’t match the musical accompaniment, so they had to start over twice. Patrik also fumbled on the song, which according to him was not suitable for quickstep. “Unfortunately we had bad music, I’m sorry. The jury should know that,” murmured the husband of Zlatica Švajdová Puškárová at the time.
Even the moderator Adela Vinczeová did not ignore his criticism and disappointment at the time, urging him not to deal with it. After falling out, he poured his heart out in front of the cameras. “I didn’t expect it, to be honest. I’m a little disappointed, although I’m looking forward to getting some rest. I don’t want to get on the jury, but I’m sorry, that she didn’t notice what she had. They also evaluated things that we were not responsible for. We didn’t choose the music. I’m also not an actor and I didn’t want to use different scenes and props while dancing,” were Patrik’s final words in Let’s Dance.
