The infringement process against Slovakia has already officially started.
The European Commission (EC) launched an infringement against Slovakia for double prices at the pumps. The website informed about it, saying that the EC sent an official letter to the Slovak government yesterday.
In it, he criticizes that double prices at gas stations were initially introduced only for 30 days, but the government extended this measure in mid-April. According to the European Commission, the government violated the rules of the single market and the right to free movement of persons and goods with this step.
Slovakia introduced double diesel prices already in March. It was originally a measure for one month. The measure was aimed at foreign motorists, who even currently pay more for refueling than domestic motorists.
