District of Columbia Attorney General rules out friendly fire and says FBI is investigating; images show Allen at the hotel the day before the event
The Attorney General of the District of Columbia, published on its official profile on X, this Thursday (April 30, 2026), the with details of to the traditional dinner with journalists at the White House on Saturday (25 April).

The images record Allen in on April 24, the day before the attack. The video shows him entering the establishment’s gym and leaving minutes later. The shooter was staying there.
The recording then skips to the day of the case and shows Allen entering a room next to the hallway. Seconds later, he returns and runs down the hallway. Security agents open fire on him. Allen at a US Secret Service agent.
Security agents contained him near a screening point. Allen did not reach the main event hall. The Secret Service agent who was shot was contained by his bulletproof vest. He received treatment and was released.

On her official profile on X, the prosecutor wrote: “Today, we are releasing video already provided to the U.S. District Court showing Cole Allen shooting a U.S. Secret Service agent during his attempt to assassinate the President at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.”.
The video comes after o, which emerged when Acting United States Attorney General Todd Blanche spoke to ABC that the bullet had been fired by the shooter, but later, in conversation with journalists, he refused to clarify further about the origin of the shot. Blanche said the ballistics have not yet been finalized and the research is ongoing.
Pirro stated, this Thursday (April 30), that “There is no evidence that the shooting was the result of friendly fire”. She concluded: “My office, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will continue this extensive investigation to bring Cole Allen to justice.”.
