General strike, march in Lisbon (12/11/2025)
“We are going to carry out a major general strike”, announced the CGTP leader. The strike will be on a Wednesday, the day before a public holiday.

The strike was scheduled for the day June 3a Wednesday, the eve of a holiday (Corpo de Deus). And it is again related to the employment package.
Tiago Oliveira announced on: “CGTP will call today, on May 1st, all workers to join a big general strike on the 3rd of June.”
“We are going to carry out a big general strike. We are going to continue to follow this path of complaint, but also to fight for a better life. We will continue to follow this path of requirement to withdraw the employment package“, commented the secretary general of CGTP.
The CGTP leader justifies this new general strike: the focus continues to be the proposal to review the labor law that the Government has wanted to implement since July last year.
“A climate of so many difficulties that we feel, a labor package that continues, all of it, with the same reasons that led us to the general strike in ”, he commented.
Throughout this May 1Labor Day, CGTP and UGT – General Union of Workers organize several initiatives.
Highlights include the CGTP parade in Lisbon, which starts at 2:30 pm, and the various UGT initiatives in Oeiras.
