A new general strike has been called for June 3 by the CGTP, once again against the changes to the labor law. The labor package took thousands of people to the streets this Friday to celebrate Labor Day.
From those who do not yet work to those who are less young, thousands were fighting against the labor package.
The much-contested labor package is practically a single issue.
In this a indignation was heard from North to South of the country and the actions of protest began soon after morning.
In Lisbon, at the Games Park 1.° of May, 15 kilometers were covered in step racing against the changes to the law that the Government intends impor.
In Porto, the rhythm was different, but motivation the same. Avenida dos Aliados was full of protesters, music and words of order to stop measures that, they say, will simplify dismissal and worsen precarious work.
In Coimbra, the rhymes of discontent echoed from Praça da República to Praça 8 de Maio.
Further south, in Faro, the refusal of the Government’s proposals was clearly expressed on the posters.
Madeira mirrored the same requirements: more dignified working conditions and better wages.
