Iran “emerges as a military power”, says message attributed to supreme leader

A new statement attributed to Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was published by Iranian state media on Friday (1st), marking Labor Day and Teachers’ Day in Iran.

Khamenei, who has not yet been seen in public more than seven weeks after being announced as the , praised Iran’s workers and teachers in the message, which was also used to drum up support among Iranians.

The statement attributed to him called on the population to support workers by purchasing products made in the country and stated that business owners should avoid layoffs whenever possible.

The message also says that Iran “has emerged as a military power after years of effort” and that teachers and educators must imbue “Iranian-Islamic identity in the minds and souls of young people.”

The message marks the one attributed to Khamenei. On Thursday (30), the supreme leader reaffirmed his unyielding vision for the region and provoked neighboring countries.
