Surgery for former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on his right shoulder was completed early this Friday afternoon without any complications. Bolsonaro is now in an inpatient unit for pain control and clinical observation.
The information is contained in a note from the DF Star hospital, where the former president is. According to the text, Bolsonaro underwent arthroscopic repair surgery on the rotator cuff on the right.
The note is signed by orthopedist and shoulder surgeon Alexandre Firmino Paniago, general surgeon Claudio Birolini, cardiologists Leandro Echenique and Brasil Caiado, and the general director of DF Star, Allisson B. Barcelos Borges.
On Instagram, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro published a photograph of the medical team and reported that the surgery was completed. “My gratitude to the entire team!” he said. He stated, in a second publication, that the former president is already in the room. “From now on, I will be without a cell phone. I will respond to WhatsApp messages during breaks”, he added.
The medical procedure was authorized by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, following a request from the defense. According to medical reports sent to the Supreme Court, Bolsonaro complained of “recurrent and intermittent pain” in the area and needed to use analgesic medication daily.
