The senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic denied having reached an agreement with the president of the Senate, to abandon the offensive by Master’s CPI.
“Senator Flávio Bolsonaro repudiates the attempt to associate him with any agreement to block CPMI from the Master case. It is absurd to assume understanding with [o ministro do STF] whose decisions directly affected Jair Bolsonaro and his allies”, says an excerpt from the note sent by the parliamentarian’s team this Friday (1).
An agreement with the opposition to bury the CPI, on Wednesday (29), it allowed the presidential veto on the Dosimetry PL to be overturned.
When a mixed CPI gathers the minimum number of signatures, the president of Congress is obliged to read the request for installation at the next joint session. Allies indicated that Alcolumbre did not want to open the collegiate and had not given signs that he would schedule a session for the two Houses.
The situation created an impasse for the opposition, since it is in joint sessions that the Legislature can override vetoes by the President of the Republic. Insisting on the mixed CPI would make Alcolumbre postpone the session, keeping Lula’s veto on the Dosimetry PL, which reduces the sentence of former president Jair Bolsonaro and others convicted of attempted coups.
“The one who has made the investigation difficult is the Workers’ Party, which did not sign the installation of the CPMI. Lula fears having to explain why he received it secretly and the contracts involving former ministers who received millions from the banker,” said Flávio in the note.
The senator concluded by saying that “the opposition is not afraid of investigations — on the contrary, it defends their progress. The senator will continue to work towards transparency and accountability for those involved.”
The Congress leadership wants to avoid the repercussions of the Banco Master case, since some of the deputies and senators had a relationship with , owner of the institution liquidated by the Central Bank.
The agreement to analyze the veto without reading the CPI was sealed when Alcolumbre announced the Congress session about three weeks ago, along with the hearing and the vote on the nomination of Jorge Messias for the position of minister of the (Supreme Federal Court), rejected this Wednesday (29) by the Senate.
The request by deputy Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ) to open a mixed CPI, composed of deputies and senators, was filed on February 3 with the support of 281 parliamentarians. The focus is on the relationships between STF ministers and Vorcaro.
The left also gathered signatures for a mixed CPI, in conjunction with deputies Heloísa Helena (Rede-RJ) and Fernanda Melchionna (PSOL-RS). They defend investigation into the financial system and the connections between fraud and public agents.
