Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon killed at least seven people this Saturday, 2. According to local authorities, the Israeli Army also demolished parts of a Catholic convent with excavators that were empty due to recent fighting.
According to data from Lebanese National News Agencyan airstrike on a car in the village of Kfar Dajal killed two people, while another hit a house in the village of Lwaizeh, killing three more. Two other people were killed in an attack on the village of Shoukin.
Earlier, the Israeli army had issued a new warning for residents of nine villages south of Beirut to evacuate.
Regarding the demolition of the religious space, the Israeli Army stated that it had previously been used by members of Hezbollah to fire rockets towards Israel on several occasions. The Catholic Church in Lebanon denied the allegations.
According to Gladys Sabbagh, superior general of the Salvatorian Basilian Sisters, the convent previously included a school that had been closed since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, as well as a clinic that was recently moved to the nearby village of Rmeich.
The conflict between Israel and Lebanon began on March 2, when Hezbollah fired rockets at Jerusalem, two days after the United States and Israel began a war against its main backer, Iran.

Since then, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes and launched a ground invasion of southern Lebanon, capturing dozens of cities and towns along the border.
