The magic of bureaucrats, and the INSS queue – 05/02/2026 – Elio Gaspari

After many broken promises, the government finally discovered a way to reduce the queue of insurance policyholders.

Under the current system, if a citizen is in line waiting for three decisions, three requests are counted. Thus, the queue is around 2.5 million processes.

With the change, the account may be made using the insured person’s CPF. If he has three processes, it will count as one applicant.

Bureaucrats’ magic, especially because if it reduces the queue by half, its victims will continue to number in the millions.

Medical costs in the US

The healthcare system is broken. Long live.

The New York Times showed that a doctor based in New York and Florida advertised breast reduction procedures for up to $25,000, but, taking advantage of loopholes in the rules, charged $440,000 for the service.

It could be an outlier, but an appendicitis surgery on a child, without any complications and less than 24 hours of hospitalization, cost 115 thousand dollars.

In both cases, the health plan pays.

Fiction about Iran

Lightning can strike twice in the same place. In January, the head of the secret service said in Washington that in the event of a war with the United States, opposition to the ayatollahs would overthrow the regime.

The war is in its third month and the popular uprising has not materialized.

The White House likes to hear what pleases it. On April 19, 1975, Zambia’s president, Kenneth Kaunda, went to Washington and met with President Gerald Ford.

Kaunda told him that Angola’s situation was in trouble and its neighbors, Zambia, Zaire, Tanzania and Mozambique would not accept an MPLA government. Ford and Henry Kissinger believed and got involved in the Angolan melé.

The Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola expelled the rival factions from Luanda, dragged the chips down, and in November took power. It’s there to this day.
