A decision by the TCE-SP (State Audit Court) raised concerns for management (Republicans), by suspending the bidding process for hiring companies that provide conservation services, including asphalt, on 30 sections of highways, access roads and interconnections.
These stretches are managed by the DER (Department of Roads and Highways), as they are not under private concession.
Contracts with companies that provide this service run until September. And there is concern that the new tender will be concluded by this deadline, without compromising the sequence of maintenance services.
These contracts total almost R$4.6 billion and bring together almost 3,000 workers.
The main obstacles that led TCE advisor Maxwell Vieira to suspend the contest refer to technical errors in the text of the notice. In the decision, signed on April 17, Vieira gave the government ten days to respond.
To the Panel, the Tarcísio administration stated that it will provide the information and await the court’s response to, if necessary, incorporate any recommendations into the notice.
“Of a precautionary nature, the decision aims to allow a more in-depth analysis by the control body of the bidding process, in light of the questions presented by interested parties, as provided for by current legislation”, says the government.
DER also states that the road network under its management will continue to receive regular maintenance, ensuring the continuity of services and the safety of drivers.
