After a month-long break forced by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the F1 season resumed this weekend. With the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia cancelled, the race resumed in Miami Gardens, in the United States, with changes to the regulations and another victory for Kimi Antonelli, from Mercedes.
It was the third consecutive triumph for the Italian, who this Sunday (3) fought a duel with the British Lando Norris, from McLaren, current champion of the category. He set a good pace and managed to stay in first place for most of the race on the street circuit outside Miami. Australian Oscar Piastri, from McLaren, completed the podium.
Antonelli, just 19 years old, now has 100 points. He is followed by his Mercedes teammate, Briton George Russell (76), who did not perform well in the United States and finished the race in sixth place. Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, from Audi, completed the course outside the points zone, in 12th place.
The Miami GP was brought forward by three hours by the championship organizers due to the forecast of storms in the late afternoon. And it was the first with the changes made to the regulations, after the problems recorded at the beginning of the season. They made the race pace more similar to what has been seen in F1 in recent years.
