High school graduation in Poland was marked by the leak of photos of the test on social networks

In Poland, hundreds of thousands of students began their matriculation exams with a written exam in the Polish language. The commission is investigating the leak of photos of the test on social networks.

This year’s matriculation exams, which approximately 344,800 high school students will take, began on Monday with a written exam in the Polish language. This is reported by the Warsaw correspondent TASR, according to the PAP agency.

The director of the Central Examination Commission, Robert Zakrzewski, informed that before the beginning of the matriculation examinations, they did not register any irregularities that could affect their progress. However, during the exam, photos of parts of the graduation test appeared on social networks. Zakrzewski pointed out that in the event of a reasonable suspicion of a violation of the law, the commission can file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office.

Brief overview of exams

The written exam consists of three parts – two tests and a written work. The first test verifies the ability to work with journalistic or popular science texts, the second is focused on the history of literature. The exam also includes writing an essay on one of the two topics offered.

After the exams, the graduates said that the topics of the essays were the impact of work on a person and his environment or the question of the importance of a person to others and his perception by society.

The tasks in the tests, in turn, concerned, for example, the differences between digital and traditional recording of information or literary works such as Lalka by Boleslaw Prus and Ferdydurke by Witold Gombrowicz. When writing the thesis, the graduates also had to rely on the required literature and a wider context.
