At the end of April, the capital of Slovakia came alive again with fashion! The starting third decade of the BRATISLAVA FASHION DAYS (BMD) project was a visual experience for the audience, to whom the designers showed the best from the SPRING/SUMMER season. Over the course of two days, BMD organizer Mária Reháková brought to the guests the creations of stalwarts of Slovak fashion design and young creative authors.
Former tennis player and former Slovak parliamentarian Romana Tabaková came to the parades covered in a brown coat. As she revealed to Koktejla with musician Teri Čikoš, she once again relied on minimalism, in which she feels best. “Because I’m a tall woman, I want things as simple as possible. But today, for example, the main accessory is my shoes,” she said about the choice of outfit.
She used to stand alone on the catwalk as a model. Doesn’t it tempt her again? “Why not? Even when I showed a dress for Michaela Ľuptáková in 2018, I was the “plus size” model. I just enjoy it. When you are an athlete and an exhibitionist, you like to show off something. why not” Tabaková admitted.
We were interested in Tabakova’s opinion as a former athlete on current trends not only in fashion, but also in weight loss. “First of all, it’s very important, whether you’re on a diet or not, that you eat with passion and enjoy the food. It’s not that when you’re chewing, you immediately say: “Jesus, I’m going to gain weight again.” That’s the absolute worst. I had bulimia. I know what I’m talking about. But these days it’s very difficult to lose weight the normal way, that is diet and exercise,” emphasized the ex-politician.
“And I’ll tell you that since I saw Serena Williams (tennis player), what she was advertising, because she lost an incredible amount of weight… so I’m not condemning the injections. If you are under medical supervision, then it is a science. Serena Williams spoke unequivocally about it. I just don’t like it, for example, that there are many Slovenian women who are known to have lost weight with those injections, and they will say that it is thanks to their application or sports or food. It would be very fair if they told the truth. If someone asks me, I will tell the truth,” concluded Tabaková.
