A tragic outcome was found for Portuguese businessman Gabriel Batista, who disappeared after trying to cross a flooded bridge in South Africa. The Madeiran’s body was discovered inside a crocodile slaughtered in a river.
🇿🇦 South African police shot a crocodile whose stomach contents included a 59-year-old man, who had been swept into floodwaters.
Along with Gabriel Batista’s remains, they found 6 pairs of shoes in its stomach.

The victim, from the parish of Serra de Água, had lived in South Africa since 1975 and was heading to the hotel he owned in Komatipoort. It is believed that he was surprised by the violence of the waters during the night.
Authorities noticed strange behavior in one of the reptiles in the Natural Park, which presented mobility difficulties. After slaughtering the animal, they found the remains of Gabriel Batista inside.
