Lua Escudeiro, national U18 surfing champion, receives support from Poké Market in Olhão

Algarve surfer Lua Escudeiro, current national U18 surfing champion, now has the support of the “Poké Market” restaurant in Olhão, in a partnership that combines the athlete’s growth with one of the city’s most recent gastronomic projects.

Born in Faro, Lua Escudeiro has established herself as one of the young promises of national surfing. In 2025, she won the title of national champion in the U18 category and received the “Junior of the Year” trophy awarded by the National Surfers Association.

Now 18 years old, the athlete is preparing new competitive challenges and is now sponsored by “Poké Market”, a restaurant opened in 2025 in the Olhão Markets by Tomás Ferreira and Miguel Buchinho.

The partnership comes at a symbolic moment for the restaurant, which celebrates its first anniversary on May 11th.

Project wants to go beyond gastronomy

According to those responsible for the space, the support for Lua Escudeiro represents the restaurant’s first project outside the gastronomic area.

“For us, the values ​​of our brand match Lua’s objectives, because we are both on a growing path and with a lot of ambition. We believe in it and that’s why we want to help and be present however possible”, says Tomás Ferreira.

The owners emphasize that the objective is also to associate the restaurant’s name with projects linked to sport and the promotion of young talents in the region.

In addition to its daily activity in Olhão, the “Poké Market” is also preparing its presence at the Seafood Festival, reinforcing the brand’s growth strategy.

Lua Escudeiro points to new international challenges

For 2026, Lua Escudeiro’s objectives are to qualify for the World Surf League Junior Championships and enter the Top 3 of the MEO Surf League.

The athlete also intends to begin qualifying for the World Surf League Challenger Series, one of the main gateways to the world circuit.

The new support from “” will accompany this competitive journey, with the brand becoming part of the Algarve surfer’s board.
