Even so, Brazilian government interlocutors believe that the meeting should take place without major friction, given the recent history of cordial contacts between Lula and Trump.
Among the main topics on the agenda are tariffs imposed by the United States on Brazilian products, such as steel, aluminum, copper and furniture.
Another subject that should be discussed is international cooperation in combating organized crime. Members of the Lula government intend to reduce involving the possibility of Brazilian factions, such as PCC and Comando Vermelho, being classified as terrorist organizations by the United States.
