Michael Strebl knows only too well what it means to have to get through a crisis. In February 2022, when Putin declared war on Ukraine and prices for electricity and gas climbed to unprecedented heights, Strebl was head of Vienna Energie and was close to the brink of the abyss with Austria’s largest electricity distribution company – due to an acute liquidity crisis. It could be mastered, but it left a deep impression. Now Strebl has switched to the other side and is dealing with new crises.
