The General Health Inspectorate concluded that António Gandra D’Almeida did not comply with the rules for the accumulation of public functions when he was at INEM and in the Executive Directorate of the SNS.

António Gandra D’Almeida resigned from his position as executive director of the SNS after the SIC Investigation revealed that, as director of INEM, he worked as a worker in several hospitals.

The Inspection report was approved at the end of April by the Health Minister’s office and concluded that the surgeon worked more hours than he was authorized to work.

In hospitals in the Algarve, it reached 78 hours a week. As director of the SNS, the Inspectorate found that Gandra D’Almeida authorized payments in excess of those stipulated to the service provider itself, ignoring the rules regarding impediments.
